Nigeria: Almajiri Reform Bill Will Give Hope to Millions of Children, Parents - Lawmaker

The member representing Bodinga-Dange Shuni-Tureta federal constituency, Balarabe Shehu Kakale, has thrown his weight behind the move by the Sokoto State government to reform the Almajiri system of education in the state.

The bill, which was sent to the state House of Assembly by the state government was at the public hearing stage after passing the first and second readings.

Presenting his memoranda on Wednesday, the lawmaker said the bill when passed into law would give hope, dignity and resourcefulness to the millions of children and their parents in the state and beyond.

Kakale-Shuni described the bill seeking the establishment of the Arabic and Islamic Education Commission in the state as apt and commendable.
