Suspected Gangsters In Haiti Killed By Angry Mob

spot_img

On Monday, a mob in Haiti’s capital beat and burned thirteen suspected gang members to death.

According to media reports, the police said they had earlier confiscated illegal weapons from the suspects.

But it was not clear how members of the public could attack them.

There has been a sharp increase in lawlessness in Haiti since President Jovenel Moïse’s assassination in July 2021, as armed gangs continue to expand their territories and clash with the police.

According to some estimates, gangs currently control over half of the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince.

Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who has led Haiti since President Moïse’s assassination, has frequently called for an international force to battle the criminal gangs.

United Nations officials have also called for the international force.

But so far, no country has volunteered to lead the proposed force.
