Popular Jamaican actor Clive Duncan passed away yesterday after battling cancer for some time. He was 57.

Duncan is best known for his role as Maas Drapus on the popular JBC hit drama Lime Tree Lane, which aired from 1988 until 1997.

Born in St Mary, Duncan later moved to Kingston to study while pursuing joint careers in acting and finance.

The Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts alum was also a staple on the local theatre scene, with roles in The Love List, Chain Reaction, I Take This Man, and several other productions.

He was also known for his role as Jean Pierre on the popular TV soap opera Royal Palm Estate.

Reacting to news of his death, several players in the local entertainment sector yesterday took to social media to salute the icon.

“We will miss his immense talent, but most of all, his warm and generous spirit. Sleep well, Clive,” playwright and actress Dahlia Harris tweeted.
