Rockets’ Danuel House under NBA investigation for allowing female testing official in room

Danuel House Jr. of the Houston Rockets will not play Game 4 of the NBA semifinals according to sources

Houston Rockets reserve Danuel House Jr. is currently under investigation by the NBA due to allegations that he allowed a female COVID-19 testing official into his hotel room. Sources told USA Today that he would not play Game 4 of the NBA semifinals on Thursday.

According to Yahoo, sources say that although his status for the remainder of the Western Conference semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers is up in the air, House maintains his innocence.

Tuesday, both House and center Tyson Chandler were ruled out of Game 3 for “personal reasons.” And given the league-wide implications of this case, fans and opposing teams alike are monitoring how the NBA handles this incident.

Currently, the Rockets are the only remaining team staying at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort, which is where the players undergo their daily testing.

Life inside the bubble

As theGrio previously reported, earlier this week LeBron James explained that there is a very specific reason why his three children haven’t come to visit him inside the NBA Bubble.

“It’s not a kid-friendly place,” he said in a press conference.

The NBA allowed players’ families to visit during the playoffs, and while the Los Angeles Lakers’ power forward’s wife, Savannah, has come down to Orlando, their children have remained in Los Angeles.

“My kids are too adventurous, and they love to do so much stuff,” James continued. “There’s nothing for them to do here. Go outside, come back in, go outside, come back in. They can stay in L.A. They’re great.”

James has repeatedly stated that playing inside the bubble creates a “weird dynamic.”

“I definitely love playing in front of the fans,” he said in early August. “The fans are what make the game. Without the fans, I wouldn’t be who I am today. To all the fans out there that come watch me play, I miss you guys, and hopefully, someday I can get back to that interaction.”
