According to Soccer Laduma Kaizer Chiefs were close to signing Grobler in October 2020 but their plans were scuppered by the Fifa Transfer ban.

Grobler missed out on working with Hunt at SuperSport United as he started his time at the club just as the coach moved on to Bidvest Wits.

Thabiso Kutumela has blossomed as a forward at Maritzburg United and the former Orlando Pirates man’s next move is likely to be to Gauteng and one of the PSL’s big three.

His two years at Orlando Pirates were marked by frustration as he failed to establish himself in the starting lineup.

Kutumela has scored 11 goals in 22 appearances and looks to be in the form of his life at the Team of Choice.

He extended his contract with Maritzburg United during lockdown and consdering his red-hot streak, it would take some fee to spring him from Sleepy Hollow.

Players who didn’t manage to command first team places during their time at Orlando Pirates have thrived elsewhere and another former Buccaneer is drawing interest.

Sandile Mthethwa has become a rock for Chippa United and his form and fitness have had an enormous impact on the club’s fortunes.

Mthethwa scored the goal that sent Chippa United into the Nedbank Cup. He didn’t play a single match for Orlando Pirates while signed for the club but at 24-years-old remains a bright prospect.

The former South Africa under-23 defender is believed to be on the radar of Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

The player has also expressed his desire to play oversees having previously seen a move to Portugal fall apart.
