Female Robbed in Downtown Frederiksted

A woman was shot at and robbed by a man Monday night at on the Strand Street in Frederiksted.

According to the V.I. Police at 9:33 p.m. Monday, the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to Strand Street, Frederiksted to investigate a robbery.

The female victim, whose name was not released in accordance with department policy, reported to police that she and a friend were walking toward her 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser, when a slim Black male wearing a mask fired a shot as he approached them. The victims ran to safety when the suspect fired another shot at them before leaving the area in the victim’s vehicle.

The victim stated that there was another suspect, but was unable to give a description.

Detectives urged anyone with information about the robbery to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
