‘I’m Not Going to Do That For You’: Karen Huger Slams Candiace Dillard for Forcing Her to Pick a Side Amid Feud with Monique Samuels

Karen Huger appears to be staying neutral regarding the ongoing feud between fellow castmates Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels.

In the teaser for the upcoming episode of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” set to air on Sunday, Oct. 25, Karen, 57, slammed Candiace for seemingly forcing her to pick a side following the explosive altercation between her and Monique.  As viewers may remember, Monique, 37, and Candiace, 33, got into a heated shouting match last year that ultimately turned physical as Monique appeared to hit Candiace repeatedly on the head. Footage from the fight recently resurfaced during the current season of the reality show.

“I’m a little upset that you continuously say I should be against Monique,” Karen was heard telling Candiace in the preview. Candiace replied, “I need to hear from you that you understand what Monique did was wrong.”

“You want me to choose a side and to totally abandon Monique, and I’m not going to do that for you,” Karen screamed. Candiace and fellow castmate Dr. Wendy Osefo explained that they didn’t necessarily want Karen to “abandon” Monique, but instead hold her accountable for her actions.

The sit-down between the women came after the cast learned during the Sunday, Oct. 18 episode that Candiace had pressed charges against Monique after their brawl. During Wendy’s daughter Kamrynn’s sip and see, several cast members questioned Candiace on her decision. “How are you feeling?” asked Gizelle Bryant.

Candiace responded, “I’m stressed. I only recently decided to file charges, and it was everywhere in five minutes.” She added, “I wasn’t expecting it to happen that fast.” When asked if the goal was for Monique to go to jail, Candiace said, “The goal is for the court system to do what the court system needs to do.” Gizelle vocalized that she had researched the consequence of second-degree assault and discovered that if convicted, Monique could go to jail for “five years or something.” She added, “That’s a lot.” Candiace simply replied, “Yes.”

In November 2019, Monique and Candiace accused each other of second-degree assault and filed complaints directly with the District Court of Montgomery County in Maryland. In December, however, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office informed lawyers for the co-stars that they would not be pursuing their ongoing cross complaints.
