Jac Ross, a young musician with a seasoned soul, captures the ears and hearts of all who enjoy timeless music. His single ‘It’s Ok to be Black’, written by the inspiration from his 4-year-old daughter, gives ambition, notion and guidance to anyone who needs it. Jac isn’t afraid to allow his music to show the real him, nor was he afraid to share some fun facts in the AFRO’s random game of “20 Questions.”

  4. What “old person” things do you do? I sit in the house all day. Quarantine to me is nothing because this is what I do.

  9. What’s a strange habit of yours? Grinding my teeth, I’m doing it right now.
  10. What’s the worst thing you’ve eaten out of politeness? This lady made some rice, and it had some shrimp in it. She was raving on about it, so I got some. When I put it in my mouth I was right in front of her, and I had to do everything in my power not to spit it out. It tasted like water.

  14. What quote do you live by? “All things are possible with the help of the Lord.” That’s my favorite quote.

  17. Best gift you ever received? My daughters.
  18. Have you ever broken a bone? No, but I’ve always kind of lowkey wanted to break a bone because all my friends bones have broken except mine.
  19. Favorite holiday? Thanksgiving because that’s when I was born. But nobody’s there for my birthday, they’re just there to eat.
  20. If you could ask advice from any historical figure, who would it be? Martin Luther King. I would ask him, “How did you endure the hardship, and stay focused on the mission at the same time?”

Ross’ hardships have hit home runs, but his work will never be out of season. He has home concerts every Monday and Thursday at 4 p.m. EST live on YouTube. His latest single ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’ is also a great listen, it is a Nina Simone remake. You can follow him on Instagram @jacross
