Eskom load reduction: Blackouts in Gauteng on Tuesday, 23 June
Gauteng is due for more power outages on Monday evening, as Eskom load reduction continues.

Several suburbs in Gauteng will again be plunged into a period of darkness on Tuesday, due to Eskom load reduction.
The power utility has been rolling out blackouts in certain areas – which it says have been affected by illegal connections – since last week.
Network overload plunges Gauteng into more darkness
With the grid still under strain, more suburbs are set to be hit by outages from 17:00 to 22:00
Areas affected include Soweto, Roodepoort and the West Rand.
Eskom has urged residents in these suburbs not to log a fault during the duration of the outages.
“Eskom urges customers to use electricity sparingly in order to prevent the network overload and by switching off non-essential electrical appliances such as stoves, heaters, washing machines and geysers, even during the load reduction implementation,” the power utility said in a statement.

Eskom began rolling out these blackouts last Tuesday after reporting that its grid has been under strain.
