‘Now We Gotta Throw the Whole Microwave Away’: La La’s Color-Changing Sneaker Post Goes Splat When Fans Call Her Out for Putting Shoe In the Microwave

La La Anthony’s color-changing kicks weren’t enough to deter fans from putting her on blast for tossing them into her microwave — where food is usually heated up — to activate them.

The 39-year-old TV personality and actress posted a video of herself on Aug. 26 showing off the heat-activated Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Lows, which weren’t set for release until Aug. 29. The kicks are definitely fly, changing from brownish black to a green, blue, and red thermochromatic pattern, but La La’s followers were quick to point out that there had to be a better way to get them going, even if they were fresh out of the box.

“Proceed with caution 🚨Love these Civilist SB’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥literally! 🤪🤪,” “The Love Playbook” author captioned her video.

Before sticking her shoes where she also sticks her food, La La warned viewers, “Do not try this at home but watch carefully,” before microwaving the sneaks for 10 seconds. At the end of the clip, the sneakerhead bragged, “You ain’t got these,” but fans were too distracted to even care.

“Gotta have a sneaker only microwave 😩,” commented a follower.

“Somebody gonna tell her she could have used a blow dryer? 😩🤦🏾‍♀️😂,” a second joked.

“Now we gotta throw the microwave away lol I’m not puttin no food in that,” wrote a third.

“Oh we microwaving sneaks now 😂🔥,” a fourth laughed.

“Now the damn microwave smelling like Fritos. 😂,” clowned a fifth.

According to Nike, the collaboration with the Berlin-based Civilist brand was inspired by the raver culture that developed shortly after the Berlin Wall came down in 1991.
