Motsweding FM DJ Kabelo (KB) Molopyane has died, according to a social media post by the radio station on Sunday.

The 45-year-old joined the station in 2002, where he presented weekday primetime shows. He was the voice of the Weekend Breakfast, Top 30 and Party-Time.
The SABC also issued a statement to mourn Molopyane. The corporation said Molopyane's illustrious radio career dated back to 1996 when he joined Motsweding FM's Drama Department before joining Soshanguve Community Radio station in 1997 and Mafisa Community radio station in 2000.

He was also a sports commentator, covering soccer, rugby and cricket.
According to the corporation, KB was also a qualified teacher with a Diploma in Education and a Degree in Communications obtained from the University of North West.
"His meaningful contribution to the SABC will continue to inspire all who knew him personally and professionally. The SABC board, management and staff, would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to the Molopyane family and friends. He will be deeply missed and may his soul rest in peace," the SABC said in a statement.

The radio DJ first took to the air in Soshanguve Community Radio station in 1997 and Mafisa FM in 2000.

Details surrounding the presenter's memorial and funeral service will be announced in due course, the SABC said.
