THURSDAY’S WEATHER FORECAST: 5/23/24
Happy Thursday!
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Thursday will be mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms. Rain may be heavy at times, and there is an increased risk of excessive rainfall across portions of the islands. The high temperature will be approximately 86°F, 30°C, with winds out of the east-southeast at about 17 to 21 mph, gusting up to 26 mph. The chance of rain on Thursday is approximately 80%. Please remember that the ground is very saturated; additional rain could lead to flash flooding or mudslides.
Thursday night will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Rain may be heavy at times. The low temperature will be approximately 78°F, 25.5°C, with winds out of the east at about 13 to 15 mph. The possibility of rain on Thursday night is approximately 70%.

MARINE WEATHER UPDATE
On Thursday, the seas will be approximately 2 to 4 feet, with occasional seas up to 5 feet. Winds will be out of the east-southeast at about 15 to 20 knots, gusting up to 25 knots.
On Thursday night, the seas will be approximately 2 to 3 feet, with occasional seas up to 4 feet. Winds will be out of the east at about 10 to 15 knots, gusting up to 20 knots.
The water temperature is approximately 86-87°F, approximately 30-30.5°C.

Rip Currents: The risk of rip currents is projected to be low to moderate across most of the region on Thursday, and portions of St. Croix may be especially prone to rip currents.
