Kenya: City Hall Holds Road Marking Exercise in Eastleigh

Nairobi — The Nairobi City County Compliance and Security Inspectorate Sub-sector held a road marking exercise in Eastleigh ward.

The marking of the road took place along 1st avenue, marking Zebra crossings and Matatu drop and pickup points.

This is part of implementation of their Rapid Result Initiative goals which is Enforcement of Law and Order to increase compliance to County Laws for improved community safety and development from baseline to 100% within Eastleigh North and Airbase wards within 100 days.

The marking of roads is to ensure ease of traffic flow in the area and also provide security to Eastleigh business community considering it being the most vibrant business areas in Nairobi City.

The team led by Joseph Kipsang Deputy Director City Inspectorate, Eva Wariuko RRI Champion, Carol Njuguna Assistant Director Operations the County Commander Stephen Githara and Ward Administrator Bramwell Munga, had earlier mapped areas within the ward that had not been marked and through stakeholders and partners are now implementing the RRI goals.

Stakeholders who participated in the exercise included Forward Sacco, 8B Sacco and Qué Sacco Deputy Officer Commanding Police Division (DOCPD), William Sirengo, Deputy Officer Commanding Station (DOCS) Eastleigh North, Inspector Joseph Nkoitoi, The Staffing Officer Operation, Joyce Iminza (SOP) and Assistant Chief area Eastleigh Muhammed Issack.

The paint for street marking was donated by Rumit Gala of Royal Paints, and Smart Colours limited.
