New Africa Records and Entertainment Inc Taking Off

By Ayesha K. Mustafaa

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – “I have a new Album and new Concert show scheduled for May 13, 2021 (projected date of Eidul Fitr), to launch at 7 p.m. Mountain Time Zone,” announced Kachebee Abdullah. One of the “legacy” offspring of the Community of Imam W. Deen Mohammed – talented, focused, charitable.

Kachebee’s album is title “Karma” and was seven years in the making, all songs written by him. “I put everything I had into this project, and I can’t stop smiling.”

His labor has produced 24 original tracks of songs that cover “Future Bass,” R&B, Hip Hop ad Jazz. Kachebee’s instruments of choice are the flute, saxophone, piano, synthesizer, and of course vocals.

Mr. Nolan Shaheed joins as President with Kacebee at “New Africa Records and Entertainment Inc.” Kacebee is a singer, songwriter and musician tempered from the Jazz and R&B traditions. He describes his music as “a by-product of intense self-critical analysis, arresting raw musical concepts and refining them to a natural beauty exemplified via a philosophical, perfectionist side-of-nature.”

Kachebee previously worked as an artist and co-producer for Island Polygram records. He relishes in his defeat of R. Kelly on a nationally televised talent content show called “Big Break,” which was hosted by the late Natalie Cole – daughter of the great jazz singer, musician and composer Nat King Cole and choreographed by Debbie Allen’s Soul Train appearance.

He also made an appearance in James Ingram’s “I Wanna Come Back” music video and later served as an instructor at Sound Master “Recording Engineer School” and at the Los Angeles City College’s “Electronic Music Department.”

The Family Man: Kachebee has been married to Sis. Arhet Osman for 25 years; they have two children Nadia and Jeanna Kacebee. His father Jamal Abdullah passed from COVID-19, may Allah forgive his sins and grant him a station in Jannah.

His stepfather is Imam Ayman Abdul-Mujeed, resident Imam of Masjid Ibn Rabah of Los Angeles, Calif. And his mother is Sis. Ibtihaj Abdullah, director of the WDM High School and Sis. Clara Muhammad School of Los Angeles.

Kachebee expresses with admiration his love for his mother and acknowledgment of her great achievements in earning two Master’s Degrees and now working on her Ph.D.

He also speaks highly of the president of their company New Africa Records and Entertainment Inc, Mr. Nolan Shaheed, who has to his credits: Director for Marvin Gaye, director for Earth Wind and Fire, director for Diana Ross and director for Anita Baker. He has performed and/or recorded music with Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock, Phil Collins and Count Basie.

  1. It was nice meeting you on the ride this morning. Would love to hear your music more. If you’re in need of a fine alto, I’m selling my Selmer Mach VI which I recently had overhauled and appraised for 5 grand. It’s a wonderful instrument but I just don’t have the energy to play anymore. Anyway, hope we meet again.
