Eastern Cape police have launched an investigation after a foetus was found at an East London beach.
The foetus was found on Thursday afternoon, according to police spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana.
"[At] approximately 14:00 a foetus was found by a community member at... Orient Beach," he said.
According to The Dispatch, a former South African Navy diver and diving supervisor found the foetus while walking on the beach. He reportedly initially mistook it for a jellyfish.
