That’s So Raven star Orlando Brown is reportedly set to undergo a mental evaluation following his December arrest in Ohio.

According to TMZ, Brown’s attorney has asked for an assessment to see if the actor is mentally fit to stand trial for his domestic violence case. The results will determine if the 35-year-old can enter a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

TMZ reported Brown pleaded not guilty to aggravated menacing after allegedly threatening his brother, Matthew, with a hammer and knife, which Blavity previously covered.

Ohio law sets the maximum jail time for the charge, a first-degree misdemeanor, at 180 days.

Brown is currently on house arrest after posting a $25,000 bond to be released from jail.

It is unknown when Brown is scheduled to appear in court. His mental evaluation results could determine whether he takes the stand and changes his plea.

The former Disney star has had multiple run-ins with the law over the years and shared his struggles with addiction in an appearance on Dr. Phil in 2018.

In early 2020, after he claimed Nick Cannon performed oral sex on him while dressed as a woman, Omena Alexandria, a mother to one of Brown’s children, called out those who only react to his antics rather than supporting him and his projects.

“You don’t encourage him doing right and staying stable and focused otherwise you’d Buy the music. Not just repost a video clip or leave a comment. A follow doesn’t translate into dollars.. BUT You DO respond to f**kery,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Help us continue to encourage his personal healing and growth by discouraging the BS and uplifting his current efforts!”
