Veteran midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has heaped praise on South African star Percy Tau following his superb debut at Belgium top flight side RSC Anderlecht.

Percy Tau hit the ground running in fine fashion at the Belgian side by scoring a beautiful chip in his first appearance for the club. Tau arrived in Belgium for the third season in a row after securing a loan move from English Premier League side Brighton two weeks ago.

It took Percy Tau just over 20 minutes to open his account after coming on as a second half substitute in Anderlecht’s 3-1 victory over St Truiden in the Jupiler Pro League on Sunday. Tau marked his debut with a delicate chip over the opposition goalkeeper from the edge of the box to seal the victory for his side.

Yeye full of praise for Tau

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has opened up Percy Tau’s exploits abroad terming the diminutive attacker as a ‘hardworking’ player eager to better himself.

“I have been impressed by the way he has gone about his business since he first moved to Europe,” Letsolonyane told SunSport.

“He has always been a hardworking player, always eager to learn and improve and that has helped him adapt as well as he has abroad.

“His attitude is top, he has a mindset of a winner and I think there’s still a lot he will achieve. He is one player that sets a good example for other youngsters to follow.”

Now that Percy Tau’s debut is out of the way, he’ll be looking to earn his first start for the club following his impressive showing over the weekend when Anderlecht host Excel Mouscron on Sunday evening in their third Jupiler Pro League match of the new season.
