Miner stabbed during row at Eyelash Backdam

A miner was yesterday stabbed during an argument with another man at Eyelash Backdam, North West District.

Thomas James, 53, of Eyelash Backdam, was stabbed to the right side of his chest by the man, who is known to him.

Police enquiries have revealed that at about 7am, the two men were involved in an argument when the suspect armed himself with a sharpened instrument attached to a piece of wood and dealt James a single stab. As a result of the wound to the chest, James fell to the ground, bleeding profusely.

He was subsequently picked up by his 26 year-old daughter, who rushed him to the Pakera District Hospital at Matthews Ridge, where he was admitted as a patient.

He is said to be in a stable condition at the facility.
