Reports have been coming in that rapper Meagan The Stallion was shot multiple times and had to undergo surgery.
The incident happened outside of a Hollywood Hills home early Sunday morning. This incident happened before fellow rapper Tory Lanez was arrested on a gun charge after police officers found the weapon in his car along with the “Savage” rapper and another woman.
The rapper took to Instagram to explain the incident and said she would be focusing on her recovery.
“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote in the public note in an attempt to set the record straight. “I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets,” Meagan stated.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night,” she continued.
“I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.”
As the platinum-selling artist strategizes to move forward after this, she described the experience as an “eye-opener and a blessing in disguise” in her caption.
The 25-year-old Texas native initially rose to fame after she built a fanbase on Soundcloud and YouTube and got even bigger when fans and celebrities alike made her “Savage Challenge” go viral over the past few months.
Another celebrity had a brush with gunshots recently. Comedian and host Rickey Smiley’s eldest daughter, Aaryn, was shot multiple times nearly two weeks ago.
Smiley’s daughter was in a different vehicle at the light, according to investigators, and was caught in the crossfire.
“The tears won’t stop,” Aaryn tweeted Wednesday morning. “I’m so happy to be alive. beyond grateful. I was so close to death.”
