BWA to connect new station at Lodge Hill, St. Michael

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) advises residents in parts of St. Michael, St. James, St. Thomas and St. George that it will be working to bring its new Pumping Station at Lodge Hill, St. Michael online between Monday, December 12th and Friday, December 16th. The work forms part of the ongoing St. Stephen’s/Lodge Hill Upgrade.

The public is advised that the existing station will be taken offline on Monday, December 12th from around 8 p.m. and will remain offline for approximately 26 hours.

Preparatory work will start during the night of Monday, December 12th with the work to bring the new station online being conducted between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13th.

Following this, the new station will be tested and monitored over the ensuing few days. Customers may experience intermittent water outages during this testing period.

As a result residents in the following areas may experience low water pressure or outages during the stated period.

•      In St. Michael:

Lodge Hill, Hinds Hill, Clermont, Warrens Heights, Warrens Terrace, Warrens Park, Warrens, Rock Dundo, University Drive, Airlie Tenantry, Grazettes, Clermont, Well Gap and surrounding districts.

•      In St. James:

Husbands, Clearview Heights, Meadow Vale Heights, Crystal Heights, Hoytes Village, Hoytes Terrace, Prior Park, Holders Hill, Durant Village, John Plains, West Terrace Gardens, West Terrace Heights, Husbands Gardens, Husbands Heights, Oxnards, Prior Park, Wanstead Heights, Wanstead Gardens, Thorpes, Haynesville, Bamboo Ridge, Seaview, Walcott’s Road- Sandy Lane, Bennetts Road and surrounding areas.

 

·      In St. Thomas:

Plumtree, Blowers, Bagatelle Gardens, Bagatelle Terrace, Welches, Welches Terrace, Welches Gardens, Redmans Village, Melrose, Welches Grove, Bagatelle Park, Arthur Seat, Welches Heights, Kew Land, Padmore Village, Clover Crescent, Edgehill Terrace and surrounding districts.

 

·      In St. George:

Flat Rock and the immediate surrounding areas.

 

The BWA’s Water Tanker team will assist residents in these areas, however customers are also advised to store water for use during this period.

The Barbados Water Authority apologizes for the inconvenience this service disruption may cause. Updates will be shared on the progress of the work. (BWA)
