  1. 23rd Annual Rosa Parks Day – Transit Equity Day – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, west steps of the state Capitol.  Discover the rebellious life of Rosa Parks and celebrate her 110th birthday and lifetime of service during National Transit Day. Regional Transit’s “Old Blue Bus” showcases how far we have come, National Transit Day highlights how far we have to go.
  2. The African Marketplace – Noon Saturday, Feb. 4, at Florin Square. The Marketplace is a cultural empowerment center where Black entrepreneurs meet to offer unique goods and services, food and music.
  3. Oak Park Speaker Series: Dr. Ibram X. Kendi & Nic Stone – 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Guild Theater. The series welcomes two New York Times bestselling authors as they discuss their new book, “How to be a (Young) Antiracist.” 
  4. Pro-Am Showcase – live comedy – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club. Are you a new comedian itching to share the stage with Sacramento’s best local comedy talent?   5. Direct from Death Row – The Scottsboro Boys – 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the Guild Theater. Presented in collaboration with Celebration Arts and St. Hope, the Scottsboro Boys will come from eternity to the Guild Theater to reenact as vaudeville scenes the story of their convictions for gang rape despite prima facie evidence of their innocence.
