Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has rued missed chances and a disallowed goal after Amakhosi’s DStv Premiership defeat to Swallows FC on Tuesday.

CHIEFS HAD CHANCES IN THE FIRST HALF

Chiefs had their chances to break the deadlock in the first half with Philani Zulu hitting the frame of the goal and Daniel Cardoso seeing his goal disallowed.

After not offering much going forward in the opening 45 minutes, the Dube Birds got their winner through second-half substitute Joseph Mhlongo in the 86th minute.

The match once again highlighted Chiefs’ woes in front of goal.

In five leagues matches, they have scored only three goals, one of which was an own goal, while conceding six.

“Uhm obviously disappointed, I thought we did enough in the first half, we had some great opportunities, scored the goal, I don’t know why it was disallowed, I’m not sure,” Hunt told SuperSport TV after the match.

“And they had one chance, they scored, I mean, ja.

“There wasn’t much threat the whole night, I didn’t think there was any threat in front of us you know. So ja but you got to score.”

“Away, try go again and come back, try again.”

Hunt’s men remained in 11th-place in the standings with five points having played one more match than the teams below them in the standings.

For their fellow Soweto rivals, Swallows, life back in the top-flight is progressing a lot better.

The win moved the Birds into top spot in the log on 11 points after three victories and two draws.

Following their CAF commitments in the coming weeks, Chiefs will next be in league action on Tuesday, December 8 against Black Leopards.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

Meanwhile, Swallows will next face Golden Arrows on Saturday, December 5 at 15:30.
