‘I Should be Able to See Some Girls in Peace’: La La Anthony Says 14-Year Old Son Is Too Young to Date, Fans Chime In

La La Anthony‘s son Kiyan wanted the public’s opinion on whether he should be able to “go see some girls” in a hilarious clip posted to his mother’s Instagram page over the weekend. 

On Saturday, July 10, the 14-year-old son of the actress and media personality and NBA star Carmelo Anthony jokingly blasted his mother for not allowing him to see some of his young lady friends. 

“So, boom, I was trying to go see some girls,” the young teen said in the brief clip that appeared to be from an Instagram Live session. The “Power” star quickly interjected, asking, “Why would you be trying to go see girls at 14 years old?”

He claimed that his mother “had Secret Service follow me into the place … to go see girls,” although La La denied the allegations. Kiyan added, “Like this poll, if y’all think I should go be able to see some girls in peace.” To which his mother reiterated that he had no business going to see girls at his age. 

La La captioned the adorable post, which was viewed over 465,000 times, “Should Kiyan be allowed to see girls? He’s 14!!! 😳” She added, “He said the last time he tried I put a spy on him 😂😂🤦🏽‍♀️😩😂 @kiyananthony.”

Celebrity friends of La Laflooded the comment section with laughing emojis and questions about Kiyan’s whereabouts, including La La’s close friend Vanessa Bryant, who commented, “Who the heck are you visiting?! @kiyananthony I think NOT! Stay home Kiyan. Focus.”

Netflix’s Chief Marketing Officer Bozoma Saint John wrote, “Oh he doesn’t know that all his aunties are strategically placed all over the city. 😂,” while model Winnie Harlow suggested going to go see girls at 16, but asked, “where y’all going 👀 who all gon be there? Aight I’ll pick you up at 12!!!”

Meanwhile, others championed Kiyan’s independence, including television host Kenny Burns, who wrote, “Absolutely time La 😂” He added, “Let Nephew go see girls in Public Places 😂 No Kickbacks 😂.” Kenny Hamilton said, “Absolutely, let nephew explore the world 😂.”

In an interview on “The View” in 2019, the media personality opened up about raising a pre-teen whom she said is a “good boy,” but she worries less about him and more about the company he keeps. “It’s the other kids, the other parents, that I worry about,” she explained. “So I got to keep my eyes open.”
