Denise Dos Santos has been appointed the Office of Neighborhood Services liaison for mid-Dorchester and the Cape Verdean community. Dos Santos was born and raised in Dorchester to Cape Verdean parents who migrated from Fogo to the U.S. in the early 1990s. Dos Santos graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She comes to ONS from her previous role as Community Outreach Coordinator in the Office of Public Service, with an extensive amount of volunteer and engagement experience.

“I’m excited to be in this new role and look forward to getting my community involved in local government so that they can get the proper resources they need,” said Dos Santos. “I grew up in this neighborhood, and I want to help improve it by engaging with people and being accessible to them. I hope to inspire folks to stay connected and make our neighborhood thrive.”

Dos Santos enjoys working with and helping people around her and being involved in her community. She enjoys capturing moments and freezing time through her camera lens, as well as traveling and enjoying nature. She is committed to showing Boston different ways to engage within their neighborhoods.

The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services encourages, facilitates and maximizes citizen input and participation through service requests, neighborhood meetings, mailings, and emergency responses. To report non-emergency issues to the City, residents are encouraged to connect with BOS:311 by dialing 3-1-1 or by downloading the free BOS:311 app on iOS or Android platforms.
