It’s not easy for rape victims to talk about the solemn experience. If anything, they would like to bury forever. However, that’s not the case with Tiffany Haddish. For the second time, the actress is opening up about her experience when a police cadet raped her at the age of 17.

The incident has haunted her for years and affected her interaction with cops up to date. Tiffany says the experience took a “little bit of [her] soul,” and she was never granted the support she needed.

“I dated a police officer, a judge, a lawyer. I dated several different kinds of dudes, thinking, ‘Oh, if I date them, they’ll love me, and they’ll try to help me with my crusade of getting justice for my family and myself.’ But they were like, ‘Nah,’” the actress said.

Owing to that lack of support, she experiences challenges in her relationships, and she’s still haunted by the incident. She thought the officers she dated would do something to the police who assaulted her, but that never happened. With time she realized that revenge lay in her success, and so, she had to find a way to move on.

“I had to learn revenge is not really where it’s at. Really the true revenge is in your success,” she said.

Apart from the rape incident, Tiffany has had rough moments with the police several times. In one instance, she was pulled over by a cop and given a ticket for smoking weed in her car.

“I didn’t make no fuss about it or anything. I was letting them know I was scared, that I’m not doing anything wrong,” Tiffany said.
