THEODORE WHITMORE’S Jamaica will kick-off their preparation for their FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers by tackling Saudi Arabia in back-to-back international friendlies next month.
The head coach will send his squad to tackle the hosts at the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Stadium in Riyadh on November 14 and 17 respectively.
These two matches have been confirmed just three weeks after the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), in conjunction with its counterparts from the United States, decided to scrap a pair of friendly internationals originally scheduled to be played in October.
The Reggae Boyz have met Saudi Arabia only four times, but in their last meeting three years ago Jamaica suffered a 5-2 defeat in Saudi Arabia.
The Boyz have been out of action because of the coronavirus crisis, and the JFF suspended all leagues across the island since March 12.
The JFF released a statement that read: “This is indeed the best way to kickstart preparation with the squad experiencing the identical regional conditions under which the World Cup will be played.”
