Amanda Holden has hit back at critics that slammed her Britain's Got Talent semi-final dress which sparked a whopping 235 Ofcom complaints.

The show's judge, 49, became the focus of criticism on social media at the weekend due to a low-cut dress that saw some viewers suggest they could see her nipples.

The most recent semi-final on Saturday night sparked 277 complaints to broadcasting regular Ofcom, with 235 of them concerning Amanda's dress choice.

And now she's taken to her Instagram Story to set the record straight, insisting her nipples were nowhere near her low-cut cleavage in a message to her critics.

Sharing a screenshot of a headline about her risqué frock, she penned: "Mmmm really?! Who has nipples this close to their cleavage ?!," alongside a laughing emoji.

"FYI. A boned corset dented the girls all night," she added, alongside some egg emojis.

The low-cut blue gown certainly caused a stir as Amanda becomes the latest judge to come under fire.

Mirror Online has contacted Amanda's rep for comment.

The complaints come after fellow judges Ashley Banjo and Alesha Dixon have bore the brunt of anger from some quarters of the show's audience due to their outspoken support of the Black Lives Matter movement - including with Alesha's choice to wear a BLM necklace.

ITV has continued to stand by the show's recent performance from dance troupe Diversity, choreographed by Ashley, which depicted scenes surrounding the death of African-American  George Floyd  in the US and stood up against racism, yet went on to accrue 24,500 Ofcom complaints.

Amanda herself has also spoken up in support of Diversity's performance last week when speaking with The Huffington Post.

She said: "I would say that we mustn't forget that it was a performance that reflected the entire year, not just the tragedy in America of George Floyd.

"It was celebrating the NHS and our sense of community, which is ironic after we received those complaints."
