‘Turning the Cheek’: K. Michelle Takes the High Road When Addressing Wendy Williams’ ‘Silicone’ Comments, Fans Praise the Singer

K.Michelle approached Wendy Williams‘ silicone remarks — on “The Wendy Williams Show” — with positivity on Feb. 25 after Michelle shared the remaining clip from the host’s “Hot Topics” segment aired the same day with a lengthy caption.

The “Love & Hip Hop” alum’s point behind the upload was to blast the blog sites for reporting on Williams’s negative comments rather than the positive about Michelle — which included the host saying that people are secretly jealous of the 34-year-old because of her talents and singing career — to form a feud between the two women.

She said, “If your going to report the story report the whole thing blogs. She also said this. You needed a story that bad huh? You couldn’t post this part the positive side. I will not be going off on another black woman I no longer get paid to do that.”

The singer added, “She cracked her jokes like much of you and said what she said. I knew when I stepped out to help, and wanted to teach women it wasn’t going to be an easy battle. I decided to be transparent and at least try to help a young woman be better than me. I’ve never ran from my wrongs or rights always stood 10 toes down or not at all. You do not have to like me but in this you will respect the courage and truth I’ve been willing to confront in front of you.”

Michelle explained that although she’s received scrutiny for being open about her plastic surgery journey, she wouldn’t change a thing because she has been given a second chance to live. “Today I’m just happy to be alive. I begged God if he let me live to see my son graduate I would be a better woman. I changed my life, but it’s crazy some people just won’t let me be…. I’m on my journey. “

She ended the post by encouraging the media to focus on more important things, while refusing to lob retorts at Williams. “Media I know you have to do your job, but people are dying just don’t make it so hard. ❤️See you soon Wendy. ( definitely not a clap back, I don’t have a problem with this woman).”

Most of Michelle’s fans complimented the star’s mature stance about the dust-up, while others threw a little shade.

“I’m proud of you K! Growin on up fr 😢.”

“Turning the cheek!? Lol 😂😂😂.”

“It’s the growth and maturity for me !! She could’ve read Wendy P but took the high road.”

“Love the positivity.”

On Feb. 25, Williams addressed the recent K.Michelle headlines — the singer responded to her butt apparently deflating in a video while she was dancing — during her “Hot Topics” segment. The 56-year-old said when everyone, including the media, was poking fun at the “LHH” star, she decided not to.

She said on mark 9:31 “Everybody on social media but me criticized her.”

Williams further explained how Michelle clapped back at the trolls for their insensitive comments to an “embarrassing” moment while also bringing up the repercussions the singer faced after having plastic surgery.

“So she couldn’t believe it, so she got on, and she told everybody about
themselves,” Williams said. “Look, how many times do I have to tell you I had the butt implants, I’m not being fake about that, you know. I got them taken out.
They were giving me a problem. You know my back was hurting and this
and that and third. She didn’t know why she had so many aches in her body.”

The daytime television host briefly mentioned Michelle’s reported former flame, actor Idris Elba, while describing how horrible it could’ve been to experience those effects. She said on mark 10:09, “Imagine the tragedy of the situation leaving silicone on Idris Elba’s sheets. Now I love that story that they were romantical at one point.”

Toward the end of her segment, Williams defended Michelle and claimed people are jealous of the “LHH” star, while also extending a personal invitation to her show.

“I secretly feel that people are secretly very jealous of K. Michelle and they been bored with their own lives. You’re mad because she sings and you’re mad because she yodels and you’re mad because this coming summer her new country album is coming out. You’re mad. K. Michelle, you know we do shows to the end of July, so, well, I definitely want to have you as a guest.”

Michelle is scheduled to have the excessive skin removed next week.
